This visualisation is based on current research on fashion related data of Ethiopia:
* the location of the large industrial garment production sites in Ethiopia
* the current population size of the country (as of June 2023)
* the Ethiopian wage level of the garment sector in international comparison
Background:
Since 2015, the Ethiopian garment industry has developed at a very low wage level for Ethiopian factory workers compared to the global fashion industry.
This NFT is part of a limited collection of JPG files, an AR filter and a video mp4 file. By purchasing the mp4 NFT you will receive a printed silk scarf (140cm x 200 cm) which will be manufactured on demand.
The Ethiopian Fashion Data Showcase is an evolved development from the NEW PARAMETERS OF MAKING project.
NEW PARAMETERS OF MAKING is focussing on innovative cultural cooperation between Germany (Juliane Kahl & Alexandra Weigand), Ethiopia (Fozia Endrias, Efuye Gela Consultancy PLC) and Nigeria (Yegwa Ukpo) with the aim of knowledge exchange and a joint knowledge production.
The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office Germany and the City of Munich Department of Arts and Culture.![This visualisation is based on current research on fashion related data of Ethiopia:
